HDMI Converter
Outside of the main stands we found this Component and S/PDIF to HDMI converter. The actual details were unfortunately scarce on the Chinese stand. It could prove to be something exceptionally useful in the future, given that HMDI adoption is a progressing change in the HDTV market and that the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii both use component outputs.
Avermedia
Do you have an Xbox 360 / Xbox / PS2 / Wii but don’t have the correct TFT monitor inputs? Or want to use your TFT monitor to watch digital TV? Well Avermedia are due to release an external conversion box that converts your analogue game console inputs into digital DVI output. There’s also an aerial socket for digital TV input. It should retail for around 100 Euros and be available soon.
OCZ 2KW PSU
Not got enough power in your system? How about a
2000W PSU? It’s so ridiculously massive, the main unit can’t even fit inside your case. It
is still modular though, and the cables are covered in a high quality braid.
To power it, it has not one but
two power plugs, as well as two huge fans front and back to cool it. Unfortunately there was no live demonstration, probably because they didn't want passers by to get sucked in and spat out the other end.
KWorld DVB PCI-E tuners
KWorld, a company specialising in PC multimedia, has released two digital TV tuners on the PCI-Express x1 interface. One has a simple dual DVB tuner and the another comes with a combination of digital and analogue tuners. Both are Vista compatible and include picture-in-picture function, timeshifting, and the hybrid model includes realtime mpeg 1, 2 & 4 encoding of analogue signals.
And with just a couple of humorous exerts from the show floor that's 2007 done! See you all next year for another crazy CeBIT.
